Andrew Garfield is Your New Spider-Man

Fri, Jul 2, 2010

The rumors can all end as Andrew Garfield has official signed on to play Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in the reboot of the Spider-Man movie franchise. I’ve never heard of him, but that doesn’t mean anything. Apparently he was amazing in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”, but I have yet to see it so I have no idea. But there you have it, you’re new Spider-Man.

Marc Webb to Direct Spider-Man 4

Wed, Jan 20, 2010

According to deadline.com, Marc Webb is going to be officially announced as the new director of Spider-Man 4. You may know Marc Webb as the director of the movie (500) Days of Summer which I have heard good things about, but have yet to actually see. So there you have it, Spider-Man 4 is officially getting it’s feet off the ground after all the controversy in the past few weeks.

So what do you guys think of Marc Webb as the director? As I mentioned above I have not seen (500) Days of Summer so I’m not sure of his style, but critics seem to love the movie so I can’t imagine he’s the worst choice for the Spider-Man franchise.

Spider-Man 4 To Lose Raimi and Maguire

Tue, Jan 12, 2010

It looks as though Sam Raimi and the studio could not reach an agreement regarding the many things they were arguing about, so with that Spider-Man as we’ve known it for the past 3 films is gone. Sony says that they will reboot the franchise in 2012 with a new director and an all new cast. So you can pretty much disregard any information that you’ve seen posted on this site in the past as it’s all going to change from here on out.

So what do you guys think of this? Do you think a new cast/director will be able to replicate the success of the first 3 films?

Malkovich and Hathaway as Vulture and Vulturess?

Thu, Dec 10, 2009

Those are the new rumors floating around the internet this week. Believe what you will, but we could possibly be seeing John Malkovich and Anne Hathaway in the latest installment in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series. At this point though everything is just hearsay and rumors so I wouldn’t get your hopes up, but what would you think if these rumors were true?

Spider-Man 5 and 6 Have A Writer

Fri, Aug 21, 2009

That’s right, before we even have a full cast completely locked down for part 4, which is set for release on May 6, 2011, we have a writer for both Spider-Man 5 and 6. James Vanderbilt has been tapped to pen both scripts. Vanderbilt was also the guy that wrote the initial draft of the script for Spider-Man 4, but it was then re-written and edited a couple times by different writers. And unlike the previous Spider-Man movies it sounds like parts 5 and 6 will have interconnected storylines which may be kind of cool.
