You may know Marc Webb as the director of the movie (500) Days of Summer which I have heard good things about, but have yet to actually see. So there you have it, Spider-Man 4 is officially getting it’s feet off the ground after all the controversy in the past few weeks.

So what do you guys think of Marc Webb as the director? As I mentioned above I have not seen (500) Days of Summer so I’m not sure of his style, but critics seem to love the movie so I can’t imagine he’s the worst choice for the Spider-Man franchise.

Sony says that they will reboot the franchise in 2012 with a new director and an all new cast. So you can pretty much disregard any information that you’ve seen posted on this site in the past as it’s all going to change from here on out.

So what do you guys think of this? Do you think a new cast/director will be able to replicate the success of the first 3 films?

James Vanderbilt has been tapped to pen both scripts. Vanderbilt was also the guy that wrote the initial draft of the script for Spider-Man 4, but it was then re-written and edited a couple times by different writers. And unlike the previous Spider-Man movies it sounds like parts 5 and 6 will have interconnected storylines which may be kind of cool.
