Spider-Man 4 News

James Vanderbuilt, who wrote David Fincher’s Zodiac along with movies such as: The Rundown, Basic and Darkness Falls, is set to pen the next installment in the Spider-Man series. The only other person that has signed on to be involved in the movie for sure is producer Laura Ziskin, but as for the main stars and even Sam Raimi, nothing is official yet so we’ll keep you posted.

Make sure you head on out the store to pick up Spider-Man 3 on either DVD or Blu-Ray today! There is also a Blu-Ray trilogy set which looks amazing, so if you have a Blu-Ray player I highly suggest picking up these movies. If you do not have a Blu-Ray player yet, head out and pick up the PS3, it’s the best player for the money and plus you get a video game console. Personally I don’t even own any PS3 games, but love the Blu-Ray player.

Yep that’s right, there is apparently going to be a Spider-Man the music. Just as Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead was turned into a musical (which I heard was crazy-sweet), we will now be able to enjoy Spider-Man live onstage.

“As previously reported, Julie Taymor will direct the forthcoming musical version of the Marvel Comics hero with music provided by Bono and The Edge of the band U2. According to the notice, Glen Berger — playwright of Underneath The Lintel and The Wooden Breeks — will join Taymor on the book. (Neil Jordan — of “The Crying Game” fame — had previously been attached.) Taymor consistent collaborator Matthias “Teese” Gohl (”Across The Universe,” “Frida,” “Titus”) will serve as musical supervisor.”

At the end of a press conference for 30 Days of Night, Raimi was asked about his involvement in Spider-Man 4 and said that right now it’s not on his agenda, but he was supposed to meet with producer Laura Ziskin and Sony Pictures executives shortly to discuss Sam’s future with Spider-Man. I know I’m jumping around with Spider-Man news, but the site just launched so I have to catch up. If you know anything I missed please let me know.

“Ziskin has confirmed that there will be a fourth Spider-Man installment and she would like “everybody to be back.”"
